The Role of Celebrity Programs on YouTube in Developing Moral Values among Jeddah University Students

Abstract

This study aimed at uncovering the status-quo of the use of celebrity programs on YouTube and its role in developing the moral values of the students of Jeddah University, identifying the obstacles of benefiting from celebrity programs on YouTube in developing the moral values of the students of Jeddah University, as well as identifying the possible suggestions for benefiting from celebrity programs on YouTube. In the development of moral values among the students of the University of Jeddah. Learn about the role of celebrity programs on YouTube in the development of moral values among the students of Jeddah University. The study was based on the descriptive approach. The study used the questionnaire as a tool for collecting data and information related to the study. The sample of the study consisted of (450) students from the University of Jeddah. The results showed that (44.2%) of university students use YouTube on a regular basis, (43.8%) use it on a regular basis, and (12%) rarely use YouTube. The Arab world's celebrities on YouTube were the most follow-up by the sample of the study by (37%) followed by world celebrities (36%) and finally the popularity of Saudi YouTube by (27%). The results showed that the role of celebrity programs on the development of the moral values of students at the University of Jeddah is low according to the views of the students themselves, and the results showed that the most prominent obstacles that may limit the benefit of the role of celebrity programs on the development of the development of the values of ethical students at Jeddah University. Celebrity programs contain the irony of others, the absolute freedom to express opinions, and the great disparity between celebrity views on their programs and their behavior. And that the most prominent suggestions to take advantage of the role of celebrity programs on YouTube in the development of moral values among the students of the University of Jeddah, which came to a high degree according to the view of the sample was to report the unwanted content of celebrity programs on YouTube, and the educational institutions to launch programs famous on YouTube Interested in the issues of purpose.
