Abstract

The current research aimed at investigating the effectiveness of using a proposed teaching strategy based on fun learning in developing immediate and delayed achievement and motivation towards mathematics learning for fifth grade female students in Jazan region in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In its procedures، the research depended on the experimental based on the experimental and control groups design with pre – posttest . The research sample consisted of (68) female students who were divided into equal and equivalent groups، one of them is experimental that studied using the proposed strategy based on fun learning، and the other is controlled that studied using the usual method . The results revealed that the students of the experimental group outperformed the students of control group in the immediate and delayed administrations of the achievement test، as well as motivation scale towards mathematics learning (level of ambition– curiosity– perseverance – fear of failure) one at a time.  In the light of these results، some recommendations and suggestions were presented including: Training mathematics teachers to use the proposed strategy as it creates a rich educational environment that is pleasing to the souls of the students، Fun learning of different mathematics topics in the primary stage، and building a proposed strategy based on fun learning and studying its impact on developing higher thinking skills and a sense of humor among female students of the primary stage.
