The Effect of Interactive E-Learning Platforms on the Visual Thinking Skills and Cognitive Maps of Primary Education Students.

Abstract

The current study aimed to identify interactive e-learning platforms and their effects on the visual thinking skills and cognitive maps for first-year preparatory students from Samir Badawy School and Ali Abdel Shakour School in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate for the course (Social Studies). The study sample consisted of 40 male and female students, 20 of whom were experimental and 20 were control. The research tools included a questionnaire to determine the standard and technical criteria for designing the educational program (Visual Thinking Skills - Cognitive Maps), in addition to note cards to record skills for the members of the experimental and control groups.  The results of the study concluded that there are statistically significant differences between of Levels of visual thinking skills and cognitive maps for students of the experimental group in the pre and post application in favor of the post application.Besides, there are statistically significant differences between levels of visual information acquisition and cognitive processes for students of the experimental and control groups in favor of the experimental group in the post application.
