Abstract

The study aimed to identify the role of the story in the development of the culture of pre-school children. To achieve this, the analytical method was used to reach the appropriate answers to its questions; In light of the analysis of published literature, which is available in the field of children’s literature and culture, the study reached some results, the most prominent of which were: The story is of great importance to pre-school children, as it contributes significantly to building their personalities and forming their culture, and the study reached a number of criteria The necessary for selecting the child's story reached fifteen criteria, and the study concluded that stories play an active role in the cultural upbringing of a pre-school child; It nourishes the child with values, attitudes, and standards of desired behavior, helps him acquire language, prepares him for reading and writing, and expands his field of expertise; In addition to enriching his imagination, developing his artistic taste, and developing his motor and mental skills, and reached a number of important procedures related to planning, implementing and evaluating the story's tale, and presented a number of necessary recommendations and suggestions.
