Level of family adjustment and the relationship between Family adjustment and perceived self-efficacy among juvenile delinquents in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

Abstract

The current study aimed to identify the level of family adjustment and its relationship to the perceived self-efficacy of juvenile delinquents in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.To achieve the objectives of this study, the current study was applied to a sample of (218) juvenile delinquents in the shelters of the Ministry of Social Development .Two scales were developed: the family adjustment scale, and the perceived self-efficacy scale.The psychometric properties of the scales were verified. Where the results of the study indicated that there is a positive, statistically significant relationship between family adjustment and perceived self-efficacy among juvenile delinquents in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. In light of the results, some recommendations were presented, including: increasing attention to the category of juvenile delinquents so that they can be helped psychologically and socially, and conducting more studies that deal with the problems prevailing in the category of juvenile delinquents.
