The Effectiveness of a Proposed Training Program in Developing the Skills of Twenty-first Century among Female Social Studies Teachers in Light of 2030 Vision in Al-Muzahmyah Governorate

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the effectiveness of a proposed program in developing the skills of the twenty-first century among female social studies teachers according to the vision of 2030 in Al-Muzahmyah Governorate. To achieve the study’s objecitve, the quasi-experimental approach was used making use of the twenty-first century skills scale, and the proposed training program on the study sample totaling 30 female teachers. The data were treated statistically and showed the effectiveness of the proposed training program in developing the skills of the twenty-first century. The results also indicated that social studies teachers possess the skills of the twenty-first century by (75.91), which is less than the level of proficiency represented by (80 %) as indicated by the studies. Furthermore, there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of social studies female teachers in the pre- and post-test in the skills of the twenty-first century teacher in favor of the post-test. The results indicated the effectiveness of the training program provided and the size of the effect was large ( eta  squared = 0.694, 0.757, 0.679, 0.777) for sub-skills and for the total skills indicating the significant impact of the program on developing twenty-first century skills for social studies teachers. In light of the attained result, a set of recommendations and suggestions were developed.
