Abstract

This study aimed to investigate teachers’ perception about moral leadership and its relationship to trust in leader among secondary school leaders in Jeddah. To achieve the study objectives, the quantitative descriptive methodology was utilized using survey and correlational methods. The data was collected from the study population, which consists of 8249 male and female teachers. The study sample was selected randomly; 439 responses were valid for statistical analysis. The findings revealed that moral leadership among school leaders was high as perceived by teachers, and that their trust in leader was high as well. It also showed a positive correlation with a high value and statistical significance at the level of (0.01) between school leaders’ moral leadership and teachers’ trust in leader. In addition, the study found that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) between school leaders’ moral leadership and trust in leader due to the teacher’s gender and years of experience. The study concludes with highlighting the importance of disseminating the moral leadership principals through the different types of professional development. More research is encouraged on moral leadership investigating its relationship to other variables.
