The Status-Quo of Administrative Transparency in some Faculties of Al-Azhar University and Proposals for Development from the Faculty Members’ Viewpoints

Abstract

This study aimed at revealing the status-quo of the dimensions ofadministrative transparency and the proposals for its development in some faculties of Al-Azhar University from the viewpoints of the faculty members, and providing some recommendations that may contribute to the development of administrative transparency in some faculties of Al-Azhar University. The descriptive approach was used because it is suitable to the nature of the study. A questionnaire was applied to a sample consisting of (320) faculty members in some university faculties to identify the statusquo of administrative transparency in some university faculties (Faculty of Fundamentals of Religion, Faculty of Pharmacy, and Faculty of Education in the Boys' Branch; Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Human Studies in the Girls' Branch) and proposals for its development from their point of view. The study identified many several resalts, the most important of which are: the degree of availability of the overall reality of administrative transparency in some colleges of Al-Azhar University was at an "average" level with a mean (1.68), the degree of approval of the overall proposals for improving administrative transparency in some colleges of Al-Azhar University is at a "large" level with a mean (2.67). The study recommended the need to promote a culture of administrative transparency among employees through training courses and workshops, ensure that an accurate, clear and fast information system is built, and systems of accountability and performance appraisal should be constantly updated.
