Abstract

The present study aimed at identifying the level of insecure attachment and temptation resistance in addition to identifying the relationship between them for individuals of unknown parentage in Jordan. To achieve the purposes of this study, the translation of Fraley, Waller & Brennan (2000) was used in its Arabic translation, consisting of (36) items distributed in two dimensions, anxious attachment and avoidant attachment. The scale of temptation resistance by Qarra (2011) was developed which consists of (35) items distributed on (5) dimensions: resisting physical, emotional, and cognitive temptation, Smoking, and fast food. It was administered to a sample consisting of (100) individuals of unknown parentage (55) males and (45) females, whose ages ranged between (13-24) years, chosen by the intentional method. The results of the research revealed that the levels of insecure attachment and resistance to temptation were moderate, and there was no relationship between the patterns of insecure attachment as a whole with the dimensions of resistance to temptation.
