Abstract

The current study investigates the extent to which the Egyptian institutions can benefit from the ideal model in Al Asmarat district for developing slum areas. The Egyptian assembly for culture and community development was chosen as a representative case for its counterpart Civil Society institutions aiming at developing other Slum communities. To achieve that, simulation model for ideal models with practical nature in society should be followed to satisfy societal ambition and development goals as well as overcoming the obstacles, and embodying realistic and vivid examples that emerged from theoretical and practical philosophies that may help in changing society. Additionally, the current study may pave the way for further research to enrich social work literature. Case study was adopted as a methodology for the study on two dimensions: first, Al Asmarat district as an ideal model to be followed and justifications for choosing it. Second, the chosen assembly to simulate the ideal model and justifications for choosing it. Participants from the Egyptian assembly for culture and community development completed a (30) item survey scale. Study results in general showed that average of axis one including (social, health and scientific) dimensions surpasses the average of economic dimensions in Al Asmarat district as the verification degree for first Axis was (2.102) whereas verification degree for second Axis was(1.916). It is fairly safe to say that both axis on and two have moderate verification degree.
