Abstract

The current research aimed to evaluate the quality of learning outcomes, teaching strategies and methods of evaluation in the syllabi of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Imam Mohammad bin Saud Islamic University. To meet this end, the researcher made use of the descriptive approach by designing a list of the necessary standards for the quality of learning outcomes, teaching strategies and methods of evaluating them in light of The National Center of Academic Accreditation and Evaluation (NCAAA) standards. The list included (36) standards in three areas: the quality standards for formulating learning outcomes, which are (18) standards, and quality standards for selecting teaching strategies, which are (10) standards, and quality standards for determining evaluation methods, which are (8) standards. In light of the standards, a content analysis form was constructed to assess the level of availability of these standards in the course learning outcomes, and the results showed that the level of availability of these standards was in the first and second domains with a medium degree in the third domain with an acceptable degree. The level of availability in the three domains was of a medium degree. In light of this, a suggested proposal was presented to develop the formulation of learning outcomes, the selection of strategies for teaching them, and to determine methods for their evaluation. The research ended with providing appropriate recommendations.
