Abstract

The research aimed to investigate the effect of the interaction between the type of embedded question presentation (distributed during the presentation / massed at the end) and the type of feedback (corrective / elaborative) within an interactive video in a virtual training environment on the development of skills related to the design and production of electronic electronic tests among secondary school Teachers. A quasi-experimental factorial design (2×2) was adopted. The study sample consisted of 80 teachers from the Dekernes Educational Administration in Dakahlia Governorate, randomly assigned to four experimental groups. The virtual training environment was developed based on Mohamed El-Dessouki’s (2013) instructional design model and aligned with specific design standards. The research tools included a cognitive achievement test and a performance observation checklist. Results demonstrated the effectiveness of interactive video supported by embedded questions and feedback types in enhancing both cognitive achievement and skill performance. The findings emphasized the superiority of distributed embedded questions and elaborative feedback. A significant interaction effect was also found between the two variables on both outcome measures. The research recommends organizing training workshops for teachers to promote the adoption of interactive videos and build competencies in electronic test design as an alternative to traditional assessment practices.
