Abstract

The aim of the current research was to investigate the effectiveness of an electronic training program in developing awareness of selected artificial intelligence (AI) tools among kindergarten student teachers. Additionally, the study aimed to explore the correlation between the development of awareness of AI tools and achievement motivation among these students.
The research sample consisted of (69) third-year kindergarten student teachers enrolled in the Faculty of Human Studies, Al-Azhar University, Cairo. The participants were divided into two groups: an experimental group (n= 33) and a control group (n= 36). The experimental treatment was electronic training program (also developed by the researcher); While the study tools were The a scale for measuring awareness of AI tools (developed by the researcher), a scale for measuring achievement motivation (developed by the researcher).
The findings revealed the effectiveness of the electronic training program in developing awareness of selected AI tools among the participants. The effect size was significant (d = 2.18), with a corresponding percentage of 49%, indicating that the students in the experimental group outperformed their counterparts in the control group by 49%. Furthermore, the results indicated a positive correlation between increased awareness of AI tools and achievement motivation among the kindergarten student teachers.
In light of these findings, the researcher recommends incorporating the electronic training program into the preparation and professional development programs for kindergarten teachers, both pre-service and in-service.
