Abstract

The research aims to evaluate the level of creativity of a specific sample of Thinking represents the pinnacle of human effort, acting as a fundamental force driving creativity and innovation. Productive thinking, which combines critical and creative thinking, is particularly vital. Transforming university missions to equip students with productive thinking skills is essential, preparing them with the intellectual, scientific, and philosophical foundations necessary to creatively access and apply knowledge. However, higher education often falls short in enhancing these skills. Philosophy classes, critical for mental development, are often undervalued. Philosophical presence involves the interaction of creative minds, and without creativity and innovation, societal progress stalls. The descriptive method was adopted by administering a questionnaire aimed at exploring the role of philosophy in enhancing productive thinking from experts’ viewpoints. Findings showed strong expert support for teaching philosophy to develop productive thinking, fostering both creative and critical thinking and their sub-skills. The study found no significant differences in responses based on gender or teaching experience in philosophy. Additionally, the study suggested a vision for implementing these findings and maximizing their benefits. This highlights the crucial role of philosophical education in developing students' productive thinking skills and aims at enhancing higher education's effectiveness in this area.
