Abstract

The current study aimed to present a proposed model from an Islamic educational perspective to educate children on how to confront sexual harassment in light of international agreements and Egyptian legislation. To achieve this goal, it relied on the fundamentalist and descriptive approaches, and reached several results, the most important of which are: that the problem of sexual harassment of children is one of the most serious sexual crimes prohibited by Islamic legislation and condemned by positive legislation and international agreements, and it is also a crime punishable by law. The concept of sexual harassment in all its forms, shapes and meanings is clear and evident, and it is synonymous with illegal solicitation in the Holy Quran. Children who are exposed to sexual harassment suffer from multiple behavioral, psychological, emotional and social problems. The results of the study also indicated that the curricula in schools and universities lack educational units that focus on Islamic moral values and addressing the psychological aspects related to sexual harassment against children, and are limited to holding some training courses and national and international conferences that may be insufficient to confront this problem, and the weakness of the means Modern communications on the educational role required in raising awareness and educating on how to confront sexual harassment of children. The study recommended the need to employ modern technology to educate children on how to confront sexual harassment in light of the directives of the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet.
