Identifying The training needs of Science teachers in light of Educational Applications of Artificial Intelligence

Abstract

The current research aimed to identify the training needs of science teachers in light of some educational applications of artificial intelligence. and the descriptive analytical approach was used. To monitor the reality related to identifying the training needs of science teachers and to determine the educational applications of artificial intelligence that science teachers need to be trained on, and to answer the research questions, a questionnaire was applied to a sample of (60) individuals from science teachers for the preparatory stage in the second semester of the academic year 2022/2023 AD, including (30) male and (30) female teachers, The results of the research showed a high degree of need for training on all educational applications of artificial intelligence in question. Which indicates that they represent necessary and urgent training needs for science teachers, and the results did not show a difference between the responses of the sample members according to the variables (years of experience - gender). In light of the results, the research recommended a set of recommendations, including: the importance of in-service training for science teachers to keep pace with educational and technological developments. Providing training courses in the use of educational applications for artificial intelligence, emphasizing trainees’ interaction with them, and warning of the necessity of using them during teaching to benefit from the features they provide; To keep pace with the digital age and not lag behind developed countries.
