The Degree of Teachers' Participation in Administrative Decision-Making in Secondary Schools in the Asir Region

Abstract

The research aimed to identify the degree of teachers’ participation in making administrative decisions in secondary schools in the Asir region and to develop a number of recommendations for their development. The research used the descriptive approach, and the questionnaire was applied to a sample of (300) teachers from secondary schools in the Asir region. The research concluded that the degree of teachers’ participation in Making administrative decisions in the field of student affairs in secondary schools in the Asir region came at a moderate degree of practice, and that the degree of teachers’ participation in making administrative decisions in the field of teacher affairs in secondary schools in the Asir region came to a moderate degree, and that the degree of teachers’ participation in making administrative decisions In the field of curricula and teaching methods in secondary schools in the Asir region, and the degree of teachers’ participation in making administrative decisions related to the field of financial affairs in secondary schools in the Asir region; There are no statistically significant differences in the degree of teachers’ participation in making administrative decisions in secondary schools according to the variables (academic qualification, type of qualification, and number of years of experience).  
A group was recommended to use modern technical means in the process of participating in administrative decision-making in secondary schools in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Participation of all parties working in the school in the decision-making process, analyzing data, verifying information before making decisions, activating the systems and instructions in effect in educational departments and districts regarding the powers granted to school principals and the processes of delegating these powers to agents and teachers in the school and involving them in decision-making, activating the role of Teachers in decisions related to curricula and teaching methods because of its importance in improving teachers’ performance, developing curricula.
