The Effectiveness of a Program Based Meta-cognition and Supported by some AI Applications in Developing Written Text Evaluation and Critical Thinking Skills among Female Student Teachers of Arabic in Educational Qualification Program

Abstract

This study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of a program based meta-cognition and supported by some AI applications in developing written text evaluation and critical thinking skills among female student teachers of Arabic ( in Port Said  educational qualification center affiliated with the General Diploma program in the Faculty of Education for boys, Al-azhar University). To achieve the purpose of the study, the following instruments were prepared:

a) a list of written text evaluation skills,
b) a test for measuring the cognitive aspect of the written text evaluation skills,
c) a performance test for measuring the written text evaluation skills,
d) a list of critical thinking skills and,
e) a test for measuring critical thinking skills.

Participants were 80 female student teachers of Arabic randomly selected from the Port Said educational qualification center. They were randomly assigned into two groups: the experimental group (40), and the control group (40). Results revealed that the suggested program was effective in developing written text evaluation and critical thinking skills among female student teachers of Arabic. The study concluded with some pertinent recommendations and suggestions.
