The effectiveness of the Participative Listening strategy in developing listening comprehension skills and social skills among Second-year Al-Azhar female preparatory school students

Abstract

The aim of the current research is to identify the effectiveness of the Participative listening strategy in developing listening comprehension skills and social skills among Second-year Al-Azhar female preparatory school students. To achieve this goal, the researcher builds a List of listening comprehension skills and test of listening comprehension skills and List of social skills, and Social Skills Scale. The research was applied to two groups, one of which was experimental, numbering (35) students, and taught using the participatory listening strategy, and the other was control, numbering (35) students, taught in the usual way, at Hassan Ghanem Girls Preparatory Azhari Institute in Fayoum. The study reached many results, including: the effectiveness of the Participative listening strategy in developing listening comprehension skills, and social skills among Second-year Al-Azhar female preparatory school students at the level of the sub-axes and the total score. The study also recommended the importance of adopting a Participative listening strategy in developing other linguistic skills, including linguistic communication skills and social skills.
