The Effectiveness of a Program Based on Combining the Introduction to Linguistic Anecdotes and the Murder Strategy (M.U.R.D.E.R) to Develop Rhetorical Concepts and Creative Written Expression Skills Among First-Year Secondary School Students.

Abstract

     The study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a program based on combining the introduction to linguistic anecdotes and the Murder strategy (M.U.R.D.E.R), and to measure its impact on developing rhetorical concepts and creative written expression skills among first-year secondary school students. The experimental approach was used based on a one-group quasi-experimental design: (pre- after); The study group consisted of (40) students, and to test the impact of the program on developing rhetorical concepts and creative written expression skills among the students of the study group, a test of rhetorical concepts and a test of creative written expression skills were prepared, and after applying them on the study sample in a pre- and post-test, it was found that there was a statistically significant difference between the average scores of the study group in the pre- and post-measurements of the test of rhetorical concepts as a whole and each concept separately in favor of the post-application. The results also indicated that there was a statistically significant difference between the average scores of the study group in the pre- and post-measurements of the test of creative written expression skills, as a whole and each skill individually for the benefit of post-application, the study concluded by presenting a number of recommendations and proposed research.
