Abstract

Among the methods and tools of teaching and learning, artificial intelligence applications stand out, which higher education has begun to adopt to improve the quality of the outcomes of the educational process. Discussing the challenges resulting from the adoption of artificial intelligence in some foreign and Arab educational institutions, and the future vision of the Arab Republic of Egypt to confront these challenges. This review aims to summarize the current state of knowledge by reviewing interests, research efforts and their results related to the use of artificial intelligence applications in the educational process, especially visions and developments, and highlighting the gaps that express inconsistency between the study and future aspirations or potential issues for research in this area. The study concluded that there is a wealth of studies (the review limited it to 6 detailed topics) that dealt with the applications of artificial intelligence in various aspects of the educational process, such as the student, the curriculum, the teacher, evaluation, and management, and most of them had a positive impact on the cognitive and skill variables in all of these aspects. However, there are several gaps and points of inconsistency, including: lack of studies and research on psychological and social variables (such as mental capacity, cognitive load, mental alertness, effective social communication, administrative flexibility, moral values and ethical code... etc. among teachers, learners and administration), and in light of The review suggested some potential issues for research as promising future aspirations in our Arab region, especially the Arab Republic of Egypt.
