Abstract

The current research aims at developing some executive functions, reducing learned helpless for hearing-impaired children, and the impact of validating the continuity of the program that is based on developing executive functions and reducing learned helpless for hearing-impaired children. The research’s survey sample contains (100) hearing-impaired boys and girls, while the main sample consists of (24) hearing-impaired boys and girls in Resala Charity Organization, Nasr City, Cairo. They have been divided into two groups  (12) experimental and (12) control, between the ages (5-7) years old. The  researcher used the Quasi-Experimental methodology. The research tools contains a scale of executive functions for hearing-impaired children (prepared by the researcher), an illustrated scale of the learned helpless for hearing-impaired children (prepared by the researcher), a program based on the theory of mind on developing executive functions and reducing learned helpless for hearing-impaired children (prepared by the researcher). The research results found that there are statistically significant differences between the average levels of the experimental group on the scale of the executive functions and the scale of learned helpless in both pre and post measurement in favor for the post measurement for hearing-impaired children. There are also statistically significant differences between the average levels of both the experimental and control groups on the scale of the executive functions and the scale of learned helpless in the post measurement in favor of the control group of the hearing-impaired children. No statistically significant differences have been recorded between the average levels of the control group in both pre and post measurement on the scale of executive functions and the scale of the learned helpless after the program.
