Abstract

The study aimed to design an interactive e-learning environment based on the use of the programming language (LUA) and to examine its impact on the level of cognitive achievement in the Computer Applications course. The research sample consisted of 70 second-year male students at the Faculty of Physical Education, Al-Azhar University, during the first semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. The sample was equally divided into two groups: an experimental group of 35 students and a control group of 35 students. Additionally, scientific procedures were conducted on 30 students as a pilot group from the research community but outside the main research sample. The experimental method was used due to its suitability to the nature of the research. The researcher employed an electronic mental ability test and a cognitive achievement test. The results of the study indicated that the interactive e-learning environment based on the (LUA) programming language provided learners with great flexibility during interaction and allowed each learner to learn individually according to their learning rate, in line with their abilities and potential. One of the key recommendations was the necessity of using the interactive e-learning environment based on the (LUA) programming language at all university educational stages.
