The Structural Model of Causal Relationships between Marital Attachment Styles, Social Media Addiction, and Emotional Divorce among Wives

Abstract

The aim of the research is to reach a structural model that explains the causal relationships between marital attachment styles, social media addiction, and emotional divorce among wives. And to determine the extent of variation in emotional divorce in light of some variables. As well as revealing the most widely used social media, on a sample of (248) wives of female employees at Al-Azhar University, whose ages (30-50) years. The scale of marital attachment styles, social media addiction, and emotional divorce was applied to them, and the results showed a structural model that explains the causality of the relationships between marital attachment styles, social media addiction, and emotional divorce among wives. It has been shown that there are direct and indirect effects of marital attachment styles on emotional divorce, as it has been shown that social media addiction mediates the relationship between marital attachment styles and emotional divorce. There has also been a direct effect of marital attachment styles on social media addiction. It has also been shown that there is a direct effect of social media addiction on emotional divorce. Also, significant differences were found in the level of emotional divorce attributable to the educational level in the direction of the intermediate educational level, while no significant differences appeared in the level of emotional divorce attributable to other variables. It was also found that WhatsApp and Facebook were the most used among other social media.
