Abstract

The research aimed to identify the theoretical foundations of e-governance, the performance of colleges and some contemporary challenges, determine the level of (application of e-governance and its obstacles) in the colleges of Al-Azhar University from the point of view of faculty members, and reveal statistically significant differences between the average responses of sample members towards (application of e-governance, And its obstacles) in the faculties of Al-Azhar University, which are due to the differences in variables (job grade, administrative position, nature of study, and college accreditation), and developing a proposed vision to improve the performance of Al-Azhar University faculties through the application of e-governance in light of contemporary challenges. To achieve the research objectives, the descriptive approach was used. Design a questionnaire that was applied to a random sample of (379) faculty members at Al-Azhar University colleges.
The search results showed that the level of implementation of e-governance in the faculties of Al-Azhar University from the point of view of the sample members was (average), with the weighted arithmetic mean reaching (1.89), and the level of obstacles to the application of e-governance in the faculties of Al-Azhar University from the point of view of the sample members was (large). The weighted arithmetic mean reached (2.34), and the results also showed that there were statistically significant differences at the significance level (0.05) between the responses of the sample members towards (implementing e-governance and its obstacles) in the faculties of Al-Azhar University according to the variable (job grade) in favor of (professor), According to the variable (administrative position) in favor of (occupies an administrative position), there are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) between the responses of the sample members towards (implementing e-governance and its obstacles) in the faculties of Al-Azhar University according to the variable (nature of the study). Regarding the variable (college accreditation), there are statistically significant differences at the significance level (0.05) between the responses of the sample members towards (obstacles to implementing e-governance) in the colleges of Al-Azhar University in favor of (not accredited), and there are no statistically significant differences at the significance level (0.05) between Responses of sample members towards (implementing electronic governance) in the faculties of Al-Azhar University. In conclusion, the two researchers presented a proposed vision for improving the performance of Al-Azhar University colleges through the application of electronic governance in light of contemporary challenges.
