Employing Augmented Reality Technology in Developing Children's Creative Thinking as Perceived by the Teachers of the Stage

Abstract

            The study aimed to identify the reality of employing augmented reality technology in in developing kindergarten children's creative thinking in the skills (flexibility, fluency, and problem-solving) from their teachers' perspectives. To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive survey method was used, and the questionnaire as a tool for data collection from the study sample, represented by the governmental kindergarten teachers of the Education Department in Hail, and they numbered (230) teachers. The study reached a number of results, the most important of which are: the agreement of the study sample on the reality of employing augmented reality technology in developing creative thinking in the skill (flexibility, fluency, and problem-solving) of a kindergarten child, where the flexibility dimension came with a strongly agreeable degree, with a Arithmetic average of (4.22), and the dimension of fluency with an agreement degree with a Arithmetic average of (4.16), and the problem-solving dimension with an agreement degree with a Arithmetic average of (4.09). The study sample also agreed on the obstacles faced by kindergarten teachers in the use of augmented reality technology in developing children's creative thinking skills. Administrative obstacles, with a Arithmetic average of (4.07).  The results indicated that there were statistically significant differences between the opinions of the study sample members about the reality of employing augmented reality technology in developing creative thinking in the three skills: (flexibility, fluency, and problem solving) in kindergarten children due to the variable (years of experience) between the two groups (less than three). years) and a group (more than 10 years) for teachers with more than ten years of experience. The study presented a set of recommendations in light of its findings.
