The Attitude Toward Doping Abuse and its Relationship to Skillful Self-Esteem and Sport Competition Trait Anxiety among a Sample of Some Team Sports Athletes.

Abstract

     The current research aimed to identify the attitude towards doping abuse and its relationship to skillful self-esteem and the trait of sports competition anxiety among a sample of some Team Sports Athletes,as well as identifying the differences in attitude towards doping abuse according to the the variables of years of experience (3: 5 years - more than 5: 8 years) and participation in local matches(participated-did not participate), The basic sample consisted of (300) participants whose ages ranged between (18-25) years, with an average age of (20 ,88) and a standard deviation of (2 ,33), To verify the objectives of the research, The following tools were used (prepared by the researcher): Data collection Primary Form - Attitude towards Doping abuse scale - skill self-esteem scale, in addition to the trait of sports competition anxiety scale prepared by Radwan (2018), The research results resulted in a neutral attitude towards doping abuse among the research sample, and the presence of a statistically significant positive correlation between the attitude towards doping abuse and all (Skillful self-esteem and sports competition anxiety trait) at a significance level of (0, 01), and the presence of statistically significant differences in the dimensions of the attitude toward doping abuse and the total degree according to years of experience (3: 5 years - more than 5: 8 years) in favor of (more From 5 to 8 years) and according to participation in local matches (participated - did not participate) in favor of those who did not participate, It also became clear that it is possible to predict skillful self-esteem and the trait of sports competition anxiety through the attitude toward doping abuse, The results were discussed and interpreted in light of the theoretical framework and previous studies.
