Abstract

The study aimed to identify the factors influencing time management at the Faculty of Education for Boys at Al-Azhar University in Cairo and provide proposed mechanisms to address them. To achieve this, the study employed a descriptive approach and used a questionnaire as its research tool. The questionnaire was administered to a sample of faculty members at the Faculty of Education for Boys at Al-Azhar University, totaling 174 individuals. The questionnaire aimed to collect and analyze their responses regarding the factors affecting time management at the faculty and how to confront these factors from their perspective. This was complemented by theoretical and intellectual insights into time management at higher education institutions from the perspective of contemporary administrative and educational literature. The study yielded several key findings, including the following: The following factors ranked highest in terms of their impact on time management at the faculty: conflicts and disputes among faculty members at the department and college levels, a focus on diverse routine tasks during task performance regardless of the outcome, delays in implementing disciplinary measures for those who violate disciplinary rules, and a lack of focus on studying the means of integrating strategic plans at the college and university levels and effectively implementing them in practice. These four factors were found to be the most influential in time management at the faculty across all dimensions of the questionnaire. Therefore, addressing these factors should be a top priority for the faculty's administration to ensure they do not hinder the achievement of the college's strategic direction.
