The role of the youth parliament in strengthening political participation

Abstract

Youth is considered the heart of society, as it represents its living and renewable asset that guarantees its continuity and communication. It is the developmental human energy that drives its institutions. From this standpoint, it raises problems and challenges that must be understood and sought to work in their light in all the programs and plans that the state sets for the present and the future. Youth is considered the main axis and the main pillar On which societies depend, as the productive forces that carry the burden of economic and social progress on the one hand and the shield of defense of society on the other hand, and even push the wheel of development and carry the banner of change. Protection and care for these pioneers and young people in the form of programs and projects to satisfy their needs in general to the extent that the state guarantees the upbringing of a healthy generation capable of carrying the burden of responsibility for its mission in life and capable of advancing its society and advancing its country. Therefore, political participation is one of the important dimensions for the advancement of society, and the results of the study reached experts And specialists that the simulation models of the youth parliament contribute to the development of political participation among young people through the development of their political skills, as the study sample emphasized the importance of providing young people with the skill of political action in decision-making within the simulation model, and developing the skill of good presentation among young people in Parliament, and developing the political participation of youth effectively in contemporary society issues.With regard to the results of the questionnaire, the results confirmed that the simulation models of the youth parliament have a prominent role in developing the political participation of youth, and in instilling confidence between young people and those in charge of elections affairs, moving away from routine and paying attention to objectivity to serve the goals of parliament, instilling the values of belonging to the homeland in a way that helps in the development Political awareness.
