Internationalization of Education at Al-Azhar University in Light of the Fourth Industrial Revolution An Analytical Study

Abstract

  Internationalization is one of the important strategies in the development of university education, so the current study aimed to identify the nature of the relationship between the internationalization of university education and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and to determine the requirements for the internationalization of education at Al-Azhar University in the light of this revolution, and to analyze the current reality of the internationalization of education at Al-Azhar University, and to present a proposed vision to activate The internationalization of education at Al-Azhar University in the light of the fourth industrial revolution. To achieve these goals, the study used a descriptive approach based on the analysis of literature and previous studies related to the variables of internationalization of higher education and the fourth industrial revolution. The study reached a number of results, including: The fourth industrial revolution and its accompanying technical development contributed In spreading the internationalization of education in universities, and that one of the most prominent requirements of the internationalization of education at Al-Azhar University in the light of the fourth industrial revolution is the development of digital culture for faculty members, and the integration of technological innovations into the academic environment, such as: artificial intelligence, the Internet of things, cloud computing, and digital administrative business models, And activate digital communication with students and relevant parties, in an academic environment that supports the International dimension, and the results indicated that the internationalization of Al-Azhar University is limited to internal internationalization, which is represented in receiving students from different countries, and the weakness of internationalization abroad - across borders - whether internationalization through virtual means or the establishment of centers or branches of Al-Azhar University abroad, and in light of the results The study presented a number of proposals to activate the internationalization of education at Al-Azhar University in the light of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
