Abstract

The study aimed to address the manifestations and factors of cultural alienation among secondary school students from the Islamic educational perspective, by identifying alienation in terms of the Islamic perception, identifying the concept of cultural alienation, its stages, and identifying the characteristics of the culturally alienated personality, identifying some manifestations of cultural alienation among secondary school students, and the factors leading to it among them, the study used both fundamentalist and descriptive approaches, and found that alienation in Islam is positive because it aims to stay away from vices, secondary school students in Egypt have some manifestations of alienation, including: abandonment of Arab-Islamic culture, blind imitation, shaking of some positive values, and alienation from the Arabic language, the factors leading to cultural alienation among the students are: the decline in the role of some institutions of social upbringing, cultural penetration, generational conflict, and the subculture of youth, the study recommended the need to enhance the awareness of students about the Arab-Islamic culture, the need to educate students about the effects of cultural alienation and its dangers on the cultural identity of individuals and society, to pay attention to the Arabic language, especially in the media, so that students get used to hearing their original language and not alienated from it, and create a space of dialogue with young people to reduce the gap between the original culture of society and the subculture of youth.
