Abstract

Abstract: The current study aimed to identify the degree of importance, appropriateness, and mastery of the competences of teaching the seven modes of Quranic recitation to Al-Azhar preparatory stage blind students from the specialists’ viewpoints. To meet such an end, a three-dimensional questionnaire of the necessary competences, totaling 142, of teaching the seven modes of Quranic recitation to Al-Azhar preparatory stage blind students was designed by the researcher and validated by 12 specialists in regard to the importance and appropriateness of such competences. Moreover, the instruments of the study, namely, an achievement test of the seven modes of Quranic recitation, a memorization test of Matn ash-Shatibiyyah related to such modes, and a performance test of such modes were designed, verified, and conducted on 25 Al-Azhar third-preparatory stage blind students. After using the appropriate statistical methods, the results showed that there is a statistically significant difference at or less than 0.05 level between the mean scores attained by Al-Azhar third-preparatory stage blind students and the hypothetical mean score (80%) of the achievement test. The results also revealed that there is a statistically significant difference at or less than 0.05 level between the mean scores attained by such students and the hypothetical mean score (80%) of Matn ash-Shatibiyyah memorization test. Moreover, the results showed that there is a statistically significant difference at or less than 0.05 level between the mean scores attained by such students and the hypothetical mean score (80 %) of the performance test of the seven modes of Quranic recitation.
