eloping Monotheism (Tawheed) Curriculum in Light of Scientific Achievements and Its Impact on Developing Critical Thinking and Conceptual Comprehension among Al-Azhar Secondary Students

Abstract

The current research aimed to develop the Monotheism (Tawheed) curriculum in the light of scientific achievements and assess its impact on developing critical thinking and conceptual comprehension among Al-Azhar secondary school students. The research was administered to a sample consisting of (64) students from the first year of secondary school at Abshaway Secondary Institute of Al-Azhar for boys, and they were divided into two groups, namely control group (studied the content of Monotheism (Tawheed), and experimental one (studied the content of monotheism developed in the light of scientific achievements). The research used the following instruments: critical thinking scale, and conceptual comprehension test. After administering the experimental treatment materials summarized in the teacher's guide and student's book to the research sample members, and administering the instruments before and after the treatment, it was revealed that there were statistically significant differences at (α = 0.05) level between the mean scores of the experimental and control group students in the post administration of the critical thinking skills scale as a whole in favor of the experimental group, and there were statistically significant differences at (α = 0.05) level between the mean scores of the experimental and control group students in the post administration of the conceptual comprehension test as a whole in favor of experimental group.
