Abstract

The current research aimed to identify the relationship between the acceptance of chronic disease and quality of life for males and females with chronic disease from adolescents and adults, as well as to know the differences between males and females, adolescents and adults in accepting chronic disease, and to know the differences between males and females, adolescents and adults in quality of life. The study included (108) diabetic patients, (52) adolescents, (56) adults, who receive treatment from hospitals in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate. The study used a measure of acceptance of chronic disease (translated by the first researcher), and a measure of quality of life (prepared by the first researcher), The study used the Pearson correlation coefficient and t-test, and calculating the averages and standard deviations to get the results. The results of the study concluded that there is a positive significant relationship between the acceptance of chronic disease and quality of life. The study revealed that there are differences in the acceptance of chronic disease and quality of life between adolescents and adults in favor of adults. Except for the dimensions of freedom from physical complaints and freedom from emotional problems on the quality of life scale, and after pain tolerance on the chronic disease acceptance scale, the study also revealed that there are no differences in acceptance of chronic disease. of the quality of life between males and females.
