The effectiveness of a proposed educational unit in Islamic religious education based on educational activities in imparting religious concepts and behaviors to kindergarten children in Al-Azhar institutes.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the effectiveness of a proposed unit in Islamic religious Education based on educational activities in acquiring religious concepts and behaviors to children of the kindergarten stage at Al-Azhar institutes. To meet this end, the researcher developed (a list of appropriate religious concepts for children of the kindergarten stage at Al-Azhar institutes, a list of the most appropriate religious behaviors, a unit consisting of some activities in Islamic religious education, a teacher's guide, a guide for the guardian of the child (mother), a pictorial scale of the religious concepts, and another pictorial scale for the religious behaviors. The instruments were administered to the study sample, totaling (48) forty-eight children from of the kindergarten stage at Helmyat al-Zaytoun Model Institute (B) as a one shot group. The results of the study revealed that there were statistically significant differences at (α = 0.05) level between the mean scores of the research sample (the kindergarten stage at Al-Azhar institutes) in the pre and post administration of the pictorial religious concepts scale in favor of the post administration. There were statistically significant differences at (α = 0.05) level between the mean scores of the research sample (Riyadh children) in the pre and post administration of the pictorial religious behavior scale in favor of the post administration.
