Abstract

This study aimed to identify the role of Islamic education in dealing with epidemics and infectious diseases, confronting them and limiting their spread via identifying the concept of both epidemics and infectious diseases and the factors of their spread. It also aimed at identifying the ethics of the Islamic approach in preserving the public health of the individual and society, identifying the mechanisms of the Islamic approach in dealing with epidemics and infectious diseases, and identifying the role of some educational institutions (family, school, media, mosque) in dealing with epidemics and infectious diseases. The study used both the fundamentalist and descriptive approaches. The results reveled that commitment to applying the teachings and ethics of the Islamic approach in dealing with epidemics and infectious diseases has a significant and effective impact in reducing and confronting the spread of epidemics and infectious diseases. The study also recommended the need to work on applying the teachings of the Islamic approach through various educational institutions, work on spreading a culture of health awareness, adhere to precautionary measures, and work on applying the principle of prevention is better than cure.
