"The Reality and Challenges of Knowledge Management Implementation in Technical Colleges: Perspectives of Faculty Members at the Technical College in Maysan Governorate"

Abstract

The research aimed to investigate the current status of knowledge management implementation in technical colleges and the obstacles to its implementation from the perspective of faculty members. The study utilized a descriptive analytical approach as a research methodology. The research population included all faculty members at the Technical College in Maysan Governorate, and the study sample was determined using a comprehensive enumeration method. A questionnaire was employed as a research tool and was distributed to all members of the research population, totaling 32 individuals. The study received complete data from 25 questionnaires, which constituted the primary research sample. After statistical analysis, the research results showed that the level of knowledge management implementation in its dimensions (technological, organizational, and social) was rated as "very high," "very high," and "high," respectively, according to the responses of faculty members. However, the results also indicated the presence of some material, human, cultural, and organizational obstacles hindering the implementation of knowledge management in the college. In light of these findings, the study proposed several recommendations, including increasing incentives and rewards that support participation in knowledge management, clarifying the college's strategy regarding knowledge management, and raising awareness about the expected benefits of its implementation.
