Abstract

The current research aimed to identify the relationship between post-traumatic stress disorder and both coping strategies and psychological cohesion in a sample of late-bearing women, and also to identify whether there are differences in the mean scores of a sample of late-bearing women on the post-traumatic stress disorder scale in the light of the two variables. Years of marriage (5 years or less-more than 5 years) and educational level (above average -average -below average). and to identify the role of coping strategies and psychological cohesion in predicting post-traumatic stress disorder in the sample. Also, to identify the level of post-traumatic stress disorder in the research sample. The research sample consisted of (168) late childbearing women whose ages ranged between (30-45) years, with an arithmetic mean (36.34) and standard deviation (5.89) and the researcher used the comparative descriptive approach to achieve the objectives of the research. to verify this, three scales were applied: the post-traumatic stress disorder scale (prepared by the researcher), coping strategies scale (prepared by the researcher) and psychological cohesion scale (prepared by the researcher). The confrontation, the total score, the dimensions of the post-traumatic stress disorder scale and the total score. The research results also indicated that there is a statistically significant negative correlation at the level (0.1) between the degrees of postpartum women on the dimensions of the post-traumatic stress disorder scale, the total score, and their scores on the dimensions of the psychological cohesion scale and the total score. The results of the research also indicate that there are differences between the research sample on the scale of post-traumatic stress disorder according to the variable of the number of years of marriage, and the differences were in the direction of the number of years of more than 5 years. and the differences were in the direction of the educational level higher than the average, and the results indicated that post-traumatic stress disorder can be predicted through the degrees of the research variables among women of late childbearing.
