Abstract

The aim of the research is to reveal the effect of teaching using the (PQ4R) and problem-solving strategies on solving the mathematical problem in the subject of mathematics for ninth grade students in the Southern Ghor District. The research sample consisted of (60) students, distributed into three groups: According to the (PQ4R) strategy method, the second experimental group studied according to problem-solving, and the control group studied according to the usual method. equations) whose validity was verified, and an achievement test consisting of (20) items of multiple-choice type, whose validity and reliability were verified, The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences (α ≤ 0.05) in solving the mathematical problem among the ninth grade students in the subject of mathematics, due to the teaching method, in favor of the two experimental groups (PQ4R strategy and problem solving), and there were differences between the two experimental groups in solving the problem. sports in favor of the group that studied in a strategic way (PQ4R). In the light of the results of the study, a number of recommendations were made, including: Encouraging male and female teachers of mathematics to use the two strategies (PQ4R) and problem-solving because of their clear impact in solving the mathematical problem.
