The level of psychological burnout among teachers of children with mental disabilities in special education schools in the State of Kuwait

Abstract

The research aimed to identify the level of psychological burnout among teachers of children with mental disabilities in special education schools in the State of Kuwait. The descriptive survey method was used. For the purposes of the research, a questionnaire consisting of (22) items was prepared. It was distributed to a sample of teachers of special education schools in the State of Kuwait, which amounted to (183) male & female teachers. The results showed that the teachers' estimates of the level of psychological burnout among teachers of children with mental disabilities in the special education schools in the State of Kuwait were high in the areas of emotional stress & dullness of feelings, while they came to a moderate degree in the area of lack of a sense of achievement. The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the estimates Teachers' level of psychological burnout among teachers of children with mental disabilities in special education schools in the State of Kuwait due to the variable of experience. In light of the results, it can be recommended to train teachers of children with mental disabilities in special education schools on how to cope with work pressures.
