A suggested proposal for a virtual reality program for teaching English to middle school students using the communicative language teaching (CLT) approach

Abstract

The study aimed to develop a proposed scenario for a virtual reality program in teaching English to middle school students in light of the communicative approach (CLT), and to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher followed the descriptive approach and used the questionnaire tool to collect data, and the study sample consisted of (36) middle school teachers who are affiliated with the Education Department Majmaah and Education Administration of Hotat Sudair for the academic year 1443 AH. The study reached a set of results, the most important of which are:
1-   There is strong agreement among participants on the justifications for using the virtual reality program in teaching English to students in middle school.
2-   There is strong agreement among participants on the communicative approach used in teaching languages ​​ to students in middle school.
3-       There is strong agreement among participants on the communicative competencies used in teaching languages to students in middle school.
In light of the results, a proposed concept was developed for the use of the virtual reality program in teaching English. Moreover, the study recommended a number of recommendations.
