A proposed vision for the role of Saudi universities in developing a culture of intellectual creativity In the fields of education and scientific research in the light of the experiences of some countries (A comparative study)

Abstract

        The study aimed to conceptualize a proposal to the role of Saudi universities in developing a creative culture in consideration of some countries’ experiences, through standing on the reality of the creative culture at universities in developed and developing countries in the scope of education and scientific research. Three universities were described, one international (Harvard), two Arabic universities (King Abdulaziz University, United Arab Emirates University). ‏Among the most important results of the study: Included universities showed a great interest in developing a creative culture in the scientific research and the education scopes which was manifested by including a creative culture in scientific research through its strategic plans and developing it through centers, partnerships, intellectual property rights protection and the incentives. In Education, universities included a creative culture through its strategic plans and developing it through projects, environment, curriculum, methods and incentives with variations in procedures and application. In King Abdulaziz University, elements of creative culture were absent in some of the strategic plans that stimulate innovation, which resulted in the importance of including these elements and implemented a vision for the role of the Saudi universities in developing a creative culture.
