Effectiveness a proposed training program To raising awareness of primary school teachers in Asir region about a behavioral traits of gifted students

Abstract

The aim of this research is to discover the effectiveness of a proposed training program in developing primary school teachers' awareness (females) of the behavioral characteristics of gifted students (girls). The experimental approach with a semi-experimental design was adopted to develop the awareness of the teachers, by implementation two tests before and after the program. To measure female teachers' awareness of behavioral traits, as well as to develop their awareness of those traits. The research sample consisted of (35) female teachers in the primary stage. The results of the study revealed through the teachers' response to the pre-test that they have little information about the behavioral traits of the gifted students. And there are statistically significant differences between the average of the teachers' responses to the two tests: pre and post, about the total score of the teachers' level of awareness of the behavioral traits of gifted students, in favor of the teachers in the post test. The results also revealed that there were no statistically significant differences between the averages of the research sample's responses about the level of female teachers' awareness of the behavioral traits of gifted students, according to the variable of teaching experience. There are also no statistically significant differences between the average responses of the research sample about the level of female teachers' awareness of the behavioral traits of gifted students, according to the educational level variable.
