Abstract

The aim of the research is to measure the impact of the suggested organised content for mathematics in the light of the Marzano model on mathematical Proficiency of the sixth grade students. The researcher relied on the descriptive approach for preparing the theoretical framework which is twofold: the Marzano model, mathematical Proficiency. The researcher adopted the two-group experimental method to measure the impact of the suggested organised content for mathematics on the development of six grade students’ mathematical Proficiency. The researcher reorganised the unit (proportionality) in the light of the Marzano model, as well as preparing a teacher’s guide. Research tools included an achievement test for the first four components of mathematical Proficiency and an observation card for the fifth component. Statistical analysis of research results revealed the effectiveness of the proposed organised content of mathematics in the light of the Marzano model on developing sixth grade students’ mathematical Proficiency
