The mentorship as a Predictor of Psychological Immunity and Academic Procrastination among Students Al-Azhar University

Abstract

The current research aimed to reveal the role played the mentorship as a predictor of psychological immunity and academic procrastination among university students. The research sample consisted of (400) students from Al-Azhar University, whose ages ranged from 18-22 years. The researcher used the mentorship scale, the psychological immunity scale, and the academic procrastination scale. The results indicated that there is a positive statistically significant correlation between the mentorship scale and their scores on the psychological immunity scale, there is also a negative significant correlation between academic procrastination scale and mentorship scale. The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences of the gender variable (male\female) in the mentorship. For the grade variable (first/fourth) there are statistically differences in the dimensions of the mentorship, where the value of P was statistically significant at the level of 0.01 in favor of the fourth grade, but there was no interaction between gender and grade. The mentorship predicted positively psychological immunity and predicted negatively academic procrastination. The researcher presented some recommendation.
