A proposed strategy to develop the preparation of the general education teacher in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in light of the trends of artificial intelligence

Abstract

The aim of the research is to develop a proposed strategy to develop the preparation of the general education teacher in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the light of the trends of artificial intelligence. The research used the descriptive approach, and the questionnaire was used as a tool that was applied to a sample of faculty members amounting to (305) members of Imam Muhammad bin Saud University, King Saud University, King Abdulaziz University, Taibah University, Princess Noura University, and the Saudi Electronic University. The results of the research concluded that: The trends of artificial intelligence in preparing the general education teacher based on educational literature are (the employment of smart content, the use of smart education systems, the application of virtual reality and augmented reality, and the employment of Internet of things technology in teacher preparation programs). The reality of the requirements for developing the preparation of the general education teacher in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in light of the trends of artificial intelligence came to a medium degree, where the arithmetic mean was (2.95), with a standard deviation of (0.80). The responses of the study sample members towards the obstacles (physical and human - educational and academic - and administrative) that limit the development of teacher preparation came to a large extent, as the arithmetic mean was (3.95), and the standard deviation was (0.65). The research presented a proposed strategy for developing the preparation of the general education teacher in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in light of the trends of artificial intelligence.
