The role of digital transformation in the cultural reconfiguration of society - university youth as a model "field study"

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the role of digital transformation in the cultural reconfiguration of society - especially university youth. She used the descriptive survey method and used the questionnaire that applied to a sample of young people from the faculties of Tanta University. the study reached several results, Modern digital means of communication have become a double-edged sword with their positive and negative characteristics in particular on the elements of the cultural identity of society. On the one hand, they are considered an important means of discovery and communication, but they have been accused of perpetuating the negativity of the viewer. It also reached several dimensions of the cultural formation of university youth through the use of digital means of communication, that the digital brought about several cultural changes, it reconstructed the personality and the formation of the self, reshaped values, behaviors and trends, reshaped social relationships, and formed lifestyles and patterns. In its field framework, the study also reached several results, most notably: Digital transformation and multimedia have positives that were reflected in the formation of university youth culture: such as getting to know new friends, knowing the latest societal developments, experiencing events, self-expression and developing and enriching aspects of personality. On the other hand, it has been devoted to several negatives, most notably: the decline of societal and family ties in light of virtual relationships, the dedication of material and consumer values, the value, and psychological diseases. As for the dimensions of the cultural formation of youth : the adoption of new behaviors and ideas by young people, which provided several ways for (communication, interaction and participation, new practices for reading and writing, self-formation and building virtual relationships with others, entertainment and entertainment, access to information and knowledge Attend and watch.
