Research Universities as an entrance to Improve the scientific productivity of faculty members at Al-Azhar University

Abstract

     The current research aimed to use the research universities model as an entry point to improve the scientific productivity of faculty members at Al-AzharUniversity. The research included two main axes, including the first axis: the intellectual framework of research universities in terms of concept, origin, types of research universities, importance, characteristics, and some foundations for it, While the second axis included: The conceptual framework of the scientific productivity of faculty members, by presenting the concept of scientific productivity, its indicators, methods of measurement, and the factors affecting it. It included some personal, academic, and societal factors, then presented the most important obstacles to scientific productivity for faculty members at Al-AzharUniversity. It included: financial and administrative obstacles, academic obstacles, and societal obstacles, in addition to addressing the role of research universities in improving the scientific productivity of faculty members. The current research relied on the descriptive analytical method to achieve its goals, through procedures analyzing studies and literature. Associated with the subject of the study, and the research eventually reached some mechanisms that help in improving the scientific productivity of faculty members at Al-AzharUniversity.
