The reality of technology incubators in Saudi universities between reality and expectations

Abstract

The study aimed at discovering the following points:       Disclosure of the most important global trends for technology incubators. Disclosure of the reality of technology incubators in Saudi universities. Uncovering the obstacles facing technology incubators.        Identify the success factors of incubators.  The extent to which there are statistically significant differences at the significance level (05) between the average responses of faculty members in Saudi universities about the reality of technology incubators due to the variables of gender (male / female), specialty (theoretical / practical), academic rank ( lecturer/ assistant professor / associate professor / professor) and University (King Abdulaziz University / King Saud University / Umm Al-Qura University / Taibah University / King Fahd University of Petroleum).  of the study: the study used the descriptive analytical method.  Sample of the study: A stratified random sample, (535) from faculty members in Saudi universities.  Tool of the study:A questionnaire, prepared by the researcher, for the faculty members in Saudi universities.  The most important results that the study reached were: -The estimates of the study sample members of the faculty members in Saudi universities about the reality of technology incubators were generally high; It recorded an arithmetic mean of (3.63) and a standard deviation of (1.17). -Estimates of faculty members about the obstacles of technology incubators in Saudi universities were generally high. An arithmetic mean of (3.50) and a standard deviation of (1.18) was recorded. -The estimates of the study sample members of the faculty members in Saudi universities about the success factors of technology incubators were generally high It recorded an arithmetic mean of (4.45) and a standard deviation of (0.87). -There are no statistically significant differences between the arithmetic averages about the level of reality of technology incubators in Saudi universities from the point of view of the faculty members according to the variables: gender, specialization, academic degree, university.
