Abstract

This current study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of employing smart applications (animation) in presenting a proposed unit on cybersecurity on cognitive achievement and the attitude towards it for intermediate students. The study followed the Quasi-experimental approach, and the researcher has built the instruments which consisted of an achievement test, a scale of attitude. The study found the following results: The presence of a statistically significant difference at the level (0.01≥α) between the mean scores of the students of the experimental and control groups in the post application of the level of memory, comprehension, and application, as well as the total score of the achievement test in favor of the experimental group. The study recommended the use of smart application in clarifying the concepts of cybersecurity among middle school students, teaching curriculum about cybersecurity and the practices designed to protect themselves from attack, damage, and unauthorized access, using Situational learning theory in building the content & activities of the curriculum.
